LSPedia to Host DSCSA Exceptions Pilot Industry Meeting
November 28, 2022
By
DSCSA Exceptions Pilot
At 1pm ET on December 14, 2022, LSPedia will hold an industry meeting to provide an overview of the LSPedia DSCSA Exceptions Pilot, covering its objectives, methodology for measurement, error categories, proposed resolutions, and process for error correction.
Interoperability and ESCS exceptions
On Nov. 27, 2023, the last milestone of DSCSA’s 10-year phased requirements will go into enforcement. The 2023 milestone includes two major requirements: Interoperability and Enhanced Supply Chain Security (ESCS). The Exceptions Pilot is designed and structured to categorize, measure, and resolve errors and discrepancies surrounding Interoperability and Enhanced Security.
Errors in EPCIS data exchange
Discrepancies between physical product and EPCIS data will escalate sharply as more trading partners begin exchanging data in the coming year. Trading partners across the prescription drug supply chain will need both the ability to easily spot problems and a proven, tested playbook for what to do when they occur.
Who is participating?
The Exceptions Pilot is designed to give participants valuable insight into what types of errors to expect, how to resolve them, and how to structure internal processes to prevent them from occurring in the first place.
Current participants include:
Manufacturers Fresenius Kabi, Kowa, ProficientRx, Westminster
3PLs AmerisourceBegen ICS, Kuehne+Nagel
Wholesale Distributors CardinalHealth, Drogueria Betances, Oak Drugs, Quality Care Products, South Pointe, Vet4U Rx
Manufacturers, 3PLs, wholesale distributors, dispensers, and healthcare providers are qualified to participate. We are seeking two more companies in each trading partner type to be part of the pilot program.
